Kitchen Table
When we moved to Dorset 18 months ago I did wonder what would I do and how would I fill my days……well time has moved on and after a rather slow and unprepared start (that’s another story!) I have found so many things about Dorset that is to say the least spectacular!
Food is definitely part of the Dorset way of life. So much local produce. You can barely turn on the TV without a program either cookery or documentary about the great produce that is available. From locals to outsiders selling their goods and proclaiming that this is definitely the best available in the UK!
Having visited Hix Oyster & Fish House just before Christmas my husband bought as I thought an easy option for a present ‘Mark Hix’s Kitchen Table’. Boy was I wrong! How come all the guests there where from miles away? Essex, Cornwall , Midlands and I was the only ‘local’! This day is indeed a complete joy. A true delight on our doorstep!
To be welcomed with a special’ champagne cocktail’ to have on the terrace was an amazing way to start the day. To newcomers that view over the Cobb is spectacular. With the sun shining and families on the beach this is really England. Then to receive asparagus and oysters again outside was fantastic. As you can tell this day is about enjoying food in the most relaxed way possible. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys good food and good company!
A big thank you to Mark and Jonathan for making the day so enjoyable!
Kind Regards
Linda Smith
